The Physical challenges of a successful hunt make memories of a lifetime!

Jump off that stair climber at the gym and onto the challenging terrain of Bull Basin. Willow Creek Ranch specifically manages the property for wildlife, so it's massive elk herd has flourished. Welcoming habitat and mild weather, allow many of our bull elk to attain trophy grade. WCR accepts four (4) bow hunters per season

Elk are extremely active during breeding (rut) season and at WCR,it is not uncommon to hear bulls from inside the lodge while gathering your gear for the morning or evening hunt. The Bull to Cow ratio is an optimum 1 to 4, which explains why all of our archery hunters enjoyed 100% shot opportunity on bulls each and every day they hunted. Typically the biggest bulls of the year are taken during rut hunts.

Archery Elk hunting starts in the beginning of September and ends in early October. This early bowhunting season allows our archery hunters first opportunity at these undisturbed Elk. Our seasoned archery guides will teach you the most effective bowhunting tactics such as Call in Senarios, Spot and stalk, and incredible Ground Blind Action around key water holes and travel routes. Although you may be tired at the end of the day stalking your bull, your professional guide will position you within 30 to 50 yards of your target. This increases the odds that Bow hunters will have a great opportunity to harvest solid Pope & Young class Elk in the 270" to 340" plus range.

The number of our rifle hunters is limited to approximately ten (10) per season. This is to ensure a quality hunt experience not a quantity hunt experience. Rifle hunters will typically see hundreds of elk per day and experience the heart stopping drama of the stalk and hunt, with multiple opportunities to harvest a bull elk of their choosing.

Following the instructions of our professional guides, Our Rifle Hunters were successful on 6×6 and 7×7 bulls. These five (5) day hunts are filled with heart pounding stalks and breathless shots in a pristine ecosystem and include upscale Lodging, Delicious Meals, Transportation, and a Private Meat Cooler to preserve your game and trophies for your triumphant return home.

Deer Hunts! Patience is a Virtue.

Limited access to the Mule deer population on the Willow Creek Ranch, coupled with mild winter conditions has allowed  thriving bucks to mature to trophy quality. If your patient enough, chances of harvesting an exceptional mount are dramatically increased by initially hunting pre-rut bachelor groups and continuing to take advantage of the remaining stages of rut season.

Deer hunts occur during the rifle season from the last week in October through the end of November. Deer hunts are “Spot and Stalk” Hunts conducted in very diverse terrain, often on foot, but in Polaris Rangers when necessary. Mobility and patience will provide you the opportunity to select the buck you choose to harvest. Our success rate for this hunt is extremely high. In past seasons we have been 100% on opportunity with bucks taken, that average 160 plus on the Boone/Crockett scale. For those who can remain patient in their pursuit of a trophy mule deer, odds of connecting are excellent!

This is a fantastic way to fill your freezer and have a hunt of a lifetime with your family and friends. This hunt includes lodging in the Eco Cabins, kitchen and main lodge. This is a hunt. We will typically walk between 2-3 miles per day to stalk into a shootable position. Definitely one of our favorite hunts here at Bull Basin Outfitters.
